Skeleton Wings — Collector’s Edition Hardcover
✔ Collector’s edition hardcover, Book One of The Children of the Lonely
✔ Painted edges — gold marbled through near-black, on all three
✔ Gold foil blocked on the cloth-look case beneath the jacket
✔ Printed marbled endpapers in blue, white and gold
✔ Illustrated chapter openers and full-page quote spreads
✔ Satin ribbon marker sewn in
✔ The book and its jacket only — no merchandise, no box set
This is the collector’s edition, not the standard paperback. Different cover, different interior, different price. The photographs show the book on its own — none of the subscription-box merchandise it is often pictured beside is included.
I bought this after seeing it all over my feed and it honestly blew away my expectations. The gold foiling on the cloth cover looks incredible in person, and the sprayed edges don't bleed or stick together at all. It feels so heavy and luxurious to hold. Definitely the prettiest book on my shelf.
Pictures don't do this edition justice. The full-page illustrations and chapter art immediately set the vibe, and having the sewn ribbon marker is such a nice touch. I was originally just going to display it, but the binding is so solid that I ended up reading the physical copy cover to cover.
This is the collector's edition, not the standard paperback. Different cover, different interior and a different price. If you are buying it for someone who already reads the series, that is rather the point — but check which one they own first.

Closer
The edition, detail by detail
Four photographs of the thing itself, with nothing styled around it.

Looking after it
Painted edges want a little care
Sprayed edges are ink sitting on paper. They hold up fine in normal reading, but they will mark if the book is forced open flat, shelved somewhere damp, or dragged across a rough surface.
Keep the jacket on when it is on the shelf and it will look the same in ten years.
- Do not force the spine flat
- Keep it out of direct sun — jackets fade first
- Store upright rather than stacked under weight
Expectation management
What this is not
Four things stated plainly, so nothing is a surprise when the parcel opens.
A box set
Book One on its own. The later books in the series are sold separately.
Gift wrapped
It ships in a padded mailer, not a presentation sleeve. Wrap it yourself.

Identical copy to copy
The painted edges are sprayed by hand in batches. Yours will not match the photo exactly.

Questions
Questions about this edition
Will the painted edges rub off?
Not in normal reading. They mark if the spine is forced flat, if the book is stored damp, or if the edges are rubbed against something abrasive. Keep the jacket on and shelve it upright.
Do I need to have read anything else first?
No. This is Book One, so it is the starting point for the series.
What is your return policy if my book arrives damaged?
If your book suffers any transit damage—such as crushed corners, dented spines, or torn dust jackets—simply reach out to our support team with a photo within 14 days of delivery, and we will send you a prompt replacement or issue a resolution.
